Steve Tonkin, a Dark Skies Advisor from the Cranborne Chase AONB (which part of Trudoxhill Parish is in), is coming to Trudoxhill. Cranborne Chase has been awarded the status of International Dark Sky Reserve (IDSR), the only AONB to be granted such in its entirety, and it is important for that we ensure it is maintained. Steve will discuss why it is important –
- How supporting it can help address biodiversity and carbon emission targets.
- How it can be used to the benefit of the community by encouraging Astro-tourism.
- Up to date information on the harmful effects of light pollution on human health.
- Simple, cost-effective measures that will result in a net saving (of money, energy use and carbon emissions), and which will not compromise security or our ability to safely work, travel and socialise at night.
- How Cranborne Chase AONB can support you in this.
